Introducing Imaginary North, an ambient label by Kilometre Club.

I'm so excited to share this compilation with you. When I first shared with friends in the ambient music world about my intention to put together a compilation, I was so thrilled about the interest from so many artists whose music I admire. Even better, the songs they shared with me are all incredible.

I shared some parameters for the compilation, and the series going forward: create ambient music that incorporates some kind of field recordings, samples, or sounds from the real world. These eleven songs show a range of interpretations of this, from nature recordings, household objects, body movement, or mangled voices. Each artist has created a lush and complex soundscape, and taken as a whole, this album evokes a range of imagery, emotions, and sound.
